KETURAH
by ADALENA JESKE VALDEZ
A NOVEL OF ONE WOMANıS PILGRIMAGE DURING THE LIFE AND TIMES OF JESUS
KETURAH, as an old lady, recounts her life beginning with the happy days of wealth and privilege before she was sold into slavery. It is she who led Joseph to the stable where Jesus was born. Throughout her life she meets others who had met Jesus as a baby until as an adult she encounters Him-the Son of Man.

The biblical account of the life of Jesus has not been changed, but fictional characters are woven in and around the facts. There is Benji, the frightened little boy who meets the shepherds as they go to Jesusı stable. There is also Laire the Lazy who races the soldiers to Bethlehem in a desperate effort to save his son. Adad, a young man living on the road to Egypt, sees Mary, Joseph, and Jesus as they flee from Herod to Egypt. There is more, even a temperamental donkey named Sheba.

The people, circumstances, and experiences of Keturahıs life build to the moment when she comes face to face with that Person of compassion and miracles, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God.
